Zion, the New Jerusalem: Preparing a People and a Place for the Lord

Zion, the New Jerusalem, will be built in Jackson County, Missouri, as a holy city prepared for the return and reign of Jesus Christ. Yet Zion is more than a future location—it is the pure in heart, united in Christ and living the laws of the celestial kingdom. We prepare to build Zion by living our covenants now: overcoming contention, caring for the poor, consecrating our lives to God, worshipping in the temple, and gathering Israel. Before Zion can become a city where Christ dwells, we must allow Him to make us a people prepared for His presence.

From the Baptismal Font to the Presence of God: How Our Covenants Help Us Become Like Him

Every covenant we make—from baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost to the temple endowment and eternal marriage—is part of one connected path leading us back into God’s presence. These covenants are more than ordinances to complete; they teach us to become like Jesus Christ through obedience, sacrifice, purity, consecration, service, and love. As we live them daily and continually repent, Christ’s grace changes our hearts and prepares us to receive the fulness of God.

Grace: The Power to Become Like God

Grace is more than forgiveness—it is the transforming power of Jesus Christ. As we humble ourselves, surrender our will to Him, and continue repenting when we fall, His grace strengthens our weaknesses and helps us become more like our Heavenly Father. Like a loving parent helping a toddler learn to walk, Christ patiently lifts us each time we stumble and enables us to continue from grace to grace until we are perfected in Him.

Covered in His Glory: Offering Our Whole Souls to God

God invites us to offer our whole soul—body, spirit, heart, and will—to Jesus Christ. As we humbly surrender ourselves, Christ’s grace forgives, strengthens, cleanses, and transforms us. Through that grace, we can become filled with God’s light and glory and eventually be prepared to enter His presence and see His face, just as Moses, the brother of Jared, and Joseph Smith were enabled to do.

A Little Longer

“A Little Longer” is a song about holding on when prayers seem unanswered and heaven feels silent. It explores the possibility that Christ does not always come by immediately calming the storm or taking away our suffering. Sometimes He comes quietly—as the unexpected strength to breathe, stand, and continue for one more moment. It is a song for anyone learning to trust that even in the darkness, they have not been left alone.

Where Love Becomes Alive

“Where Love Becomes Alive” is about joining love for God with Christlike love for others. It reminds us that true discipleship is more than words or outward devotion—it is choosing courage, truth, forgiveness, compassion, and mercy in everyday life. As we recognize the sacred worth of every person and love our neighbors as Christ does, His light changes our hearts and our faith becomes alive.
