You Speak Through Prayer
“You Speak Through Prayer” is a peaceful song about learning to recognize God’s voice through prayer, scripture, the quiet guidance of the Holy Spirit, and opportunities to serve others. It reminds us that we never have to find our way alone—God is near, patiently guiding us home.
Listen
Verse 1 When I fold my hands beside the morning window And let the hurried thoughts grow still I bring You every question I have carried Trusting that You meet me where I kneel
Pre-Chorus In the quiet, teach my heart to listen In Your presence, make my spirit still
Chorus You speak through prayer, a steady invitation Through every page where living words unfold Your Spirit comes with comfort and direction And gives me gifts to share the love You hold I do not have to find the way alone You are near, and You are leading me home
Verse 2 When I read the promises You gave us A simple line can change the course I take When a gentle thought returns with kindness I can feel the wisdom in the choice I make
Pre-Chorus Through the peace that settles in my breathing Through the courage rising when I serve
Chorus You speak through prayer, a steady invitation Through every page where living words unfold Your Spirit comes with comfort and direction And gives me gifts to share the love You hold I do not have to find the way alone You are near, and You are leading me home
Bridge Give me eyes to notice who is hurting Give me hands that answer with compassion Give me faith to use the gifts You place here Give me grace to follow Your direction
Final Chorus You speak through prayer, a steady invitation Through every page where living words unfold Your Spirit comes with comfort and direction And gives me gifts to share the love You hold With every breath, I’ll turn my heart toward You In the quiet, I will hear what’s true
Outro In the quiet, I will hear what’s true You are near, and You are leading me home
