I Know That My Redeemer Lives | Hope and Healing Through Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ lives. He still heals the brokenhearted, lifts the weary, teaches those who seek Him, and reaches for those who feel as though they are sinking beneath the waves. This video is a visual testimony of the living Christ and the personal relationship He desires to have with each of us. The images portray the Savior praying, teaching, appearing to the people in the ancient Americas, showing the marks of His sacrifice, rescuing a man from the water, and continuing to walk beside him through life. The Savior does not abandon us in our weakness. When we reach toward Him, we discover that His hand has already been extended toward us. He can calm the storms within us, help us rise again, and lead us toward greater light, healing, and peace.

I Know That My Redeemer Lives: How Jesus Christ Heals and Walks with Us

There are moments in life when we feel as though we are sinking beneath the waves. We may feel overwhelmed by sorrow, weakened by sin, burdened by fear, or unsure whether anyone truly understands what we are experiencing.

In those moments, Jesus Christ does not stand far away and wait for us to rescue ourselves. He reaches down into the darkness and extends His hand.

He Reaches Us Where We Are

The Savior descended beneath all things. He experienced rejection, loneliness, temptation, grief, physical suffering, and the immeasurable agony of the Atonement. Because of this, there is no depth of pain beyond His understanding and no place so dark that His light cannot reach us.

When Christ appeared to the people in the ancient Americas, He invited them to come forward and feel the wounds in His hands, feet, and side. His scars testified that He had conquered suffering and death. They also showed that His love for them was personal.

The same is true for us. Christ’s invitation is not merely to believe that He once lived. It is to come unto Him and discover that He lives now.

Healing Does Not Always Happen at Once

Sometimes Christ calms the storm around us. At other times, He calms the storm within us while we continue walking through it.

His healing may come as forgiveness after sincere repentance, peace during grief, strength to endure another day, or quiet assurance that we are not alone. He may guide us through prayer, scripture, the Holy Ghost, inspired people, and sacred covenants.

Healing does not always mean that every difficulty immediately disappears. Sometimes healing means that Christ walks beside us, teaches us, strengthens us, and gradually transforms us through the experience.

Walking with the Savior

A relationship with Jesus Christ develops as we spend time with Him. We speak to Him through prayer. We hear His voice through scripture and the Holy Ghost. We remember Him through the sacrament. We follow Him by loving, forgiving, serving, and lifting others.

The more consistently we reach toward Christ, the more clearly we recognize that He has been reaching toward us all along.

Doctrine and Covenants 76:22 contains one of the most powerful testimonies ever given of the Savior:

“This is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!”

Jesus Christ lives. He still heals the brokenhearted. He still lifts those who have fallen. He still teaches those who seek Him. He still reaches into the waves and takes hold of those who feel they are sinking.

Whatever you are facing today, reach toward Him. You may not immediately understand how He will help you, but you can trust that His hand is extended.

Our Redeemer lives, and we never have to walk alone.
